Welcome in the name of the Lord Jesus

Part of the Diocese of Grafton, a community of God's people who are embracing the Spirit of Christ in our time.

We are situated on the Hastings River in one of the fastest growth area in the state, with beautiful pristine beaches 20-25 minutes away at Port Macquarie.

Our parish consists of four centres - St Matthew's Wauchope, St James' Byabarra, St Cuthbert's Ellenbourough and All Saints Pappinbarra. Each centre is approximately a twenty minute drive away from Wauchope.

These centres are well supported and maintained and hold a monthly service on the first, third and fourth Sunday respectively. St James' has a cottage craft outlet every third Saturday of the month which is an outreach to the community and beyond. At St Matthew's we are fortunate to have the original church building, although 111 years old, it has been lovingly restored and refurbished and is now used as a Chapel.

Our services are traditional, the congregations are friendly and welcoming, embracing all who come to worship with us.

A four year old brick building houses our air-conditioned administration and rector's offices, conference room and the Op Shop where a team of voluntary workers offer a warm and friendly welcome to the wider community.

We have many programmes in place - MU Australia (Wauchope Branch); Craft Group; Bible Study; Youth Group; Sunday School; Cursillo; Food Aid, Social Dinners and a Pastoral Care Team which takes monthly services to the Nursing Home and Hostel, visits the Hospital and takes Home Communion to the shut-ins.

The town boasts an ever expanding CBD with two new supermarkets. Our schools have good academic and sporting results with a proud history of achievers and our TAFE campus offers many and varied courses. A bus service operates daily to St Columba Anglican School, fifteen minutes away also there are four preschools in the area.

The community proudly maintains its friendly country hospitality which also extends to St Matthew's and the three centre churches.

There is a place for you in our Parish - new people bring new ideas and we happily embrace change. We welcome your enquiry and we hope you will come, journey and grow with us.
